Description
This is the story of Lizzie Winn, who was nicknamed the Little Mother of the Creeks. She raised 7 sons, and adopted 53 Creek Indian orphans to raise as her own. The children brought a measure of happiness to a life marred by the ruthless march of civilization. She remembers a raid by Civil War soldiers who killed her father, and a son was so shattered by World War I he killed himself. Includes photograph of Lizzie Winn. Originally published in 1937.
