Description

Excerpt from Tour of the American Lakes, and Among the Indians of the North-West Territory in 1830, Vol. 2 of 2: Disclosing the Character and Prospects of the Indian Race
I have tried hard to be made wise on this question, and am obliged to confess, that I know not a more convenient way of disposing of it than a hint given by Elias Boudinot Esq. of New Jersey, America, the first president of the American Bible Society, in his “Star in the West,” a book devoted exclusively to this topic. The religious world will not have forgotten the Rev. Dr. Buchanan’s “Star in the East” and its many interesting disclosures.
